Numerical Knitting

Moss Grid Hand Towel 1

Blue hand towelBranching out from dishcloths into other basic kitchen equipment… this is my first Moss Grid Hand Towel, and my first journey into knitting with linen! This is part of a wedding gift.

Pattern: Moss Grid Hand Towel from Mason Dixon Knitting

Modifications: I don’t think I made any modifications.

Yarn: EuroFlax Linen, Navy Blue

Needles: Sz 4 KnitPicks Options

What I like: It’s done? Actually I really like how it looks now that it’s done. I had some doubts in the process!

What I would change: nothing

Other notes: I used size 4 needles rather than 5’s as the pattern recommended because others on-line suggested it. I’m glad I did since I think the 5’s would have made it too loose! It seemed to take me forever to get the hang of the pattern an I kept having to tink rows. I hope that the second for the set will be a faster knit!

  1. Hi, I’m glad I just happened across your comment about using size 4 needles. I’m taking over knitting this towel for a friend who is having a really hard time with it. I’ve just started it over and will happily frog it to be able to have a tighter weave using the 4’s. Hopefully no extra linen is needed.
