Numerical Knitting

Ant Bib

This is the first in what is to be a series of “buggy bibs” for a friend and science teacher due in December!

Pattern: Based on the bib from Mason Dixon Knitting with the ant chart from Style your own Kid’s Knits

Modifications: The original bib is garter stitch. I went with Stockinette with a moss stitch border. I had to adjust the stitch count a little too, to make sure the ant fit.

Yarn: Sugar ‘n Creme

Needles: Sz 6 KnitPicks Options

What I like: I think it’s pretty cute and I got good practice with color work. By the top of the ant the back looks pretty good, not so much at the bottom, but oh well.

What I would change: I counted wrong, duh, so there’s more purple at the bottom than there should be.

Other notes: It was fun to modify the pattern to make what I wanted!

Judy was nice enough to try it on one night at
