Holiday recap…

When contemplating this post I decided it really was two parts, the gave away and the got. So, without further ado…

Gave Away — note: all items in this category are also finished objects, the other things I gave away just weren’t that interesting!
1. Bunny’s Stocking: knitting finished about the 20th, but the hanging loop wasn’t done till the 24th. Despite the falling on the floor fit that he didn’t like it while it was in progress, once it was filled by Santa it seemed fine!

2. Pair of Hats: one for mom and one for dad. I bought the yarn and pattern for mom’s at the Mostly Merino booth at the Knit and Crochet Show this past summer. Mom’s is the Hebrides Hat and dad’s is totally made up from the left over yarn. I am really pleased with both!

3. Knitty Womb: made for my great friend who just happens to be an OB/GYN. She loved it. (I forgot to take photos, but she has promised to send some.)

Got –at least the knitting related

1. Ball winder and swift: from two different aunts both of whom said, I don’t know what it is, but you want it so here.

2. One Skein and Knitting from the Top

3. A bunch of gift cards for book stores (can you say knitting books) and Starbucks (that’s where SLK meets!)

4. A memory card for my phone: you may wonder why this is knitting related… but B gave it to me with a number of knitting podcasts already on it! I loved listening to them on the ship. Now I need to know, what podcasts do you like? I see my life on the treadmill about to change!

  1. Beth, you MUST listen to Brenda Dayne, Cast On. She hasn’t had a new episode out this year yet, but she’s wonderful and funny. Then there’s the newer David Reedy with Sticks and String. He’s an aussie, so he has a killer accent. Those are the only 2 that are G rated. There is also Lime N Violet, but they are very racy and totally inappropriate on most days. But funny all the same. So, go to itunes and check these people out! 😀

  2. Definitely Brenda Dayne! ANd if you haven’t heard her, it will take you a while to start from the beginning and catch up til now (which is what I am doing) If you listen to Cast On you will find yourself checking out all the other podcasts Brenda talks about and not all of them are kntting related! Great music too.
